Chubby bird

I copied this drawing from a website for a school assignment. I was really happy with how it turned out! It's so fluffy!💗 I made sure to draw it as accurately as I could according to the picture. First I drew an outline on the bird's shape, and then erased the lines as I went to add the fuzziness of the belly and the feathers. I shaded the outside of the belly darker than the actual belly to give it texture, and made sure to add light strokes to give it the appearance of tiny feathers. I made the long feathers in the back overlap each other, and shaded with a darker pencil. I made sure to outline the eye which made gave it the illusion of popping out. I really just looked at the picture and tried to shade it similarly.
I used a 4H pencil for the outline and the belly's feathers, a 2H pencil for the darker part of the belly and the neck. The HB pencil was for the back feathers and the feet, and the 2B was for the eye and the beak. I used the 2B for pretty much anything else that needed a darker shade. Here's the link to the picture, if you want to copy it. http://fineartblogger.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/bird-pencil-drawing-artist.jpg It looks better than mine, but I was still happy that mine looked realistic.
